I have been fascinated by human healing capabilities and the mind-body connection for as long as I can remember.
Perhaps the stars aligned when I was born with ruptured shoulder tendons, nerve damage and a paralyzed arm. My parents were given two choices: operate on their newborn with no guarantees of improvement and risk of more damage or instantly start swimming lessons, physiotherapy and manual therapies like massage. Luckily they chose the latter.
Today, I operate at the exact intersection of structural tissue mechanics and central nervous system (CNS) regulation to restore elite human movement.
As a veteran Registered Massage Therapist with over 17 yrs of experience, former clinical educator, mind-body health practitioner, and Clinical Hypnotist my entire framework is built around a singular objective: resetting and repairring body and mind, unpacking the mind-body connection and the emerging science of psychoneuroimmunology to help humans heal and acheive their highest potential.
I focus on, and am especially interested in resolving the chronic repetitive strain injuries and mechanical bottlenecks that are holding high-performance athletes and humans back from their full potential.
My clinical philosophy is rooted in my academic background from the University of Toronto, where I focused heavily on the Mind-Body Connection and Consciousness Studies. I translate this foundation into real-world recovery protocols—bridging the gap between passive manual therapy, visualization techniques and active sports loading science.
My Core Performance Pillars:
🔹 Structural Decompression for Load Readiness: Deploying advanced Myofascial Release (MFR) and deep tissue massage techniques like friction to untangle disorganized scar tissue from old injuries. This restores the vital three-dimensional “slide and glide” along anatomical slings, allowing muscles and joints to absorb massive mechanical volume without localized njury.
🔹 Neuromuscular Resetting & Trigger Point Elimination: Utilizing myotonic muscle release and targeted ischemic compression to deactivate hyper-irritable muscle knots. This suppresses protective muscle-guarding, corrects mechanical compensations, and returns muscles to peak explosive power.
🔹 CNS Fatigue Mitigation: Using real-time EEG neurofeedback alongside clinical somatic relaxation to systematically down-regulate neural fatigue. This shifts highly stressed athletes out of sympathetic dominance (fight-or-flight) and into the deep parasympathetic zone required for accelerated tissue repair.
From preparing an athlete’s frame to handle rigorous workload management protocols to accelerating total systemic recovery between competitive cycles, my practice ensures structural longevity and optimized physical output.
Integrating Mind-Body Treatments—such as meditation, clinical hypnosis, and EEG monitoring—with advanced manual therapy creates the ultimate paradigm for elite athlete recovery.
In our clinic, I strive to offer a space where all humans find the peace and quietude required for physical and inner healing. Where the body, mind and spirit can reconnect, reset and repair.
It is also my goal to help other RMTs get established and develop their own independent practices as RMTs within our community.
I currently run the A Vital Touch collective and operate a full time practice where I strive to help all people (not only athletes) harness their innate healing capabilities using the mind-body connection and its brilliant (yet misunderstood) biofeedback mechanisms. I incorporate registered massage therapy with guided meditations, muscle testing, hypnosis and exciting new research in neuroscience (ask about our Muse for real time EEG measurement during meditations and hypnosis) and psychoneuroimmunology in my treatments.
When I’m not working, I love spending my time with my husband Marlon gardening, hiking and sourdough baking. I love challenging myself and learning new things and am currently having fun trying to teach myself mandarin, stock market psychology and working my way through A Course In Miracles.
I am proud to say that I am passionate about what I do and feel honoured every time I am given the opportunity to contribute to the healing journey of another. I recognize that all true healing is indeed self healing, but I hope to aid and help speed things up along the way.

Hi, I’m Stephanie and I practice registered massage therapy. I am passionate about what I do because I see, first hand, how massage helps us to powerfully reconnect mind, heart and body. I love massage therapy’s versatility — it offers pain relief and healing for both acute and chronic injures but it also induces deep states of relaxation that activate the body’s innate healing systems. Massage can help us move through our day-to-day lives in a more fully present, embodied way and that is such a transformative tool.
I studied in Toronto at Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy where I learned Swedish massage and a variety of techniques to treat joints and fascia. Post graduation I’ve deepened my knowledge by studying craniosacral techniques at Toronto’s Cranial Therapy Centre and osteopathic techniques at the Southern Ontario College of Osteopathy. In addition to expanding my clinical knowledge, these courses have helped my hands to ‘listen’ more deeply to what your body might be trying to say. My ongoing yoga and meditation practices bring home for me the importance of mindful breathing and I will often incorporate breathwork and guided visualizations into my treatments to help you manage pain or find deeper, more lasting releases.
I strive to create a safe and inclusive space and welcome all ages, body types and orientations.
Cheers, Steph
Our Origin Story
Born from Passion & Compassion
It all began with a shared dream among independant registered massage therapists in healthcare - to create a sanctuary where every treatment is a blend of heart, science, and holistic care. That dream grew into A Vital Touch Massage Therapy, a haven where your wellness is our mission.
